  1. Black interior…Nazi SS colour…where’s the red or tan or cornsilk?

If the new Beetle does not get back to the VW roots then I’m jumping ship.

Crap is just like the 2009 CC, gorgeous, leather, etc. now there’s LESS content and higher prices. I’ll pay for higher prices but do NOT remove those item that allow the car to achieve the design awards. Riding on reputation is what is killing Toyota, Lexus and whole crap GM!

  2. “Nazi SS colour”, wow thats incredibly offensive.

  3. Hi Jay, quick question. Is “climatronic automatic A/C” the dual zone climate control? I remember reading somewhere that the GLI was going to include dual zone cliamate control. Thanks for the info and the great site!

What missing items are you referring to? And how do you figure that black interior is a “Nazi SS colour”?

  5. Jay, is the premium audio in the two Autobahn versions the Fender audio set-up? If so, have you had a chance to hear it; and how does it compare to the Dynaudio set-up? Seems like some decent content for $28k; I just hope it has a better quality feel and driving dynamics (somewhat like the GTI) than the standard Jetta. I had a 2011 as a loaner and wasn’t particularly impressed compared to the MK5 version.

  6. I’m guessing we are getting the low rent microscopic RNS-315 instead of the RNS-510 w/ high res sceen and backup cam????

  7. Why is the Autobahn GLI thousands less than the GTI version?

  8. jay, any intel if xenons will be coming for the euro versions ???

  9. Matthew Hubbard

If the GLI which costs less than the GTI is getting climatic dual zone climate control, does this mean we can hope that the 2012 GTI will get it? That would kinda suck if it does not as the car is 4 to 5 k more than the GLI.

  10. Hey Jay, any idea on the exact date when the GLI will be available for purchase?

  11. Hey Jay,

If you know, what are the differences that makes the GLi cheaper than the GTi, even though they are suppose to be similar vehicles? Traditionally, GLi’s were always a little bit more expensive than the GTi’s because of the trunk…. I want to know what are the cost cutting differences..

    Thanks

  12. Any idea when it will be available for purchase at local US dealerships?
